Bucket Brigade Presents: Summer Theater Camp! (for students going into Grades 5-8)

Who: For students going into Grades 5-8
 (with all levels of theater experience)

When: Monday, July 17th-21st

What (time?): From 9am-Noon
(plus 6pm Friday showcase performance)

Where: Art House North, 793 Armstrong Avenue, Saint Paul MN 55102

How (much?): $175

Students will be exploring elements of creative expression and theater through on-your-feet-exercises and improv games. They will be encouraged and equipped to freely express themselves, engage their imagination, work in an ensemble, effectively communicate physically and vocally and create a short original theater piece, in their own words, that will be performed for a public showcase Friday evening, July 21st at 6pm at Art House North.

We don't just "do theater games." We are passionate about creating new work– honestly wrestling with ideas and communicating them thoughtfully and imaginatively through art. We love inspiring students to find their voice and communicate what's in their head and heart. 

The theme for Summer of 2023 is Better Together –  Theater is all about bringing people together. For the last few challenging years we’ve all been more isolated and disconnected than ever. Isn’t it time we lean in, reach out, circle up, laugh together, and share our stories? Theater invites us to do just that. Students will write their thoughts about the topic and perform a short theater piece in their own words as well as perform some fun, over-the-top comedic sketches related to the theme.
