Bucket Brigade offers theater camps to encourage and equip students (of all levels of acting experience) to express themselves more freely, engage their imagination, work in an ensemble, effectively communicate physically and vocally and create a short original theater piece in their own words.
We don't just "do theater games." We are passionate about creating new work– honestly wrestling with ideas and communicating them thoughtfully and imaginatively through art. We love inspiring students to find their voice and communicate what's in their head and heart.
The theme this year is: Light – We all need light– it shows the way, reveals hidden things, warms, comforts… Our world can feel pretty dark at times. How can we be light? Where do we see light around us? Where is light needed? What do we do in those times when the darkness feels overwhelming? It’s good to be reminded that even when it feels like things can’t get any darker, one little light can make all the difference. Students will write their thoughts about the topic, we’ll compile their thoughts and develop and perform a short theater piece in their own words.
We limit our class size to 14 students. We believe a smaller group size fosters a feeling of safety and community that allows the students to come out of their shell a bit more and make connections with each other more quickly.
